National Stock Exchange of India Limited, vide Circular No. NSE/ISC/74132 dated May 08, 2026, has announced an important update regarding Unique Client Code creation and reporting requirements for the Electronic Gold Receipts Segment.
Key Details of the Update –
• Applicability: All NSE Trading Members creating or maintaining Unique Client Codes for the Electronic Gold Receipts Segment.
• Effective Date: This circular shall be effective from May 16, 2026.
• Key Changes: Segment code for creating UCCs in the Electronic Gold Receipts Segment shall be “E”.
• Existing validations applicable to the Cash Segment, as specified under NSE Master Circular Ref. No. NSE/ISC/73973 dated April 30, 2026, shall also apply to the EGR Segment.
• Trading Members may create UCCs for the EGR Segment using the New Client Bulk Upload file format attached as Annexure A.
• UCCs identified as compliant by the Exchange at 22:00 hours on the previous day shall be considered Permitted to Trade for the next trading day.
• A segment-wise report of UCCs marked Permitted to Trade and Not Permitted to Trade shall be provided by the Exchange daily for batch 2.
• Existing reports such as Full File, Mandatory Report, and PAN Status Report disseminated to Trading Members shall also include records relating to the EGR Segment.
• Segment-wise reports shall be available at the path “/EGFTP/Reports”.
• Trading Status Report file name shall follow the format “SEG_TMCODE_UCC_TRADING_STATUS_DDMMYYYY_nn”.
• Not Permitted to Trade Report file name shall follow the format “SEG_TMCODE_RECORDS_NOT_PERMITTED_TO_TRADE_DDMMYYYY_nn”.
• Demat and Bank Account Validation Report file name shall follow the format “SEG_TMCODE_UCC_DEMAT_AND_BANK_ACCOUNT_VALIDATION_STATUS_DATE_SEQUENCE.csv”.
• Penalty/Consequence: Not Mentioned.
Actions if Any –
• Trading Members shall create UCCs for the EGR Segment using segment code “E”.
• Trading Members shall use the New Client Bulk Upload file format attached as Annexure A for EGR Segment UCC creation.
• Trading Members shall take note of the daily segment-wise Permitted to Trade and Not Permitted to Trade reports.
• Trading Members shall ensure necessary actions and compliance with the circular.
Compliance Deadline –
May 16, 2026 – Circular becomes effective for UCC creation and related reporting requirements in the Electronic Gold Receipts Segment.
