What changed

National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange, vide Circular No. NCDEX/ MEMBER INSPECTION -007/2026 dated April 10, 2026, has announced an important update regarding reminder for reporting of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications and systems used by market intermediaries.

Key Details of the Update –
• This circular is a reminder to members regarding submission of information/data on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications and systems for the year ended March 31, 2026.
• The circular refers to Circular No. NCDEX/ MEMBER INSPECTION-005/2026 dated March 30, 2026, which had already prescribed the details and process for submission of such AI/ML information to the Exchange.
• It also refers to Circular No. NCDEX/COMPLIANCE - 039/2025 dated July 18, 2025, under which trading members also registered with the National Stock Exchange are required to submit their AI/ML details exclusively to the National Stock Exchange and are not required to submit the same separately to National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange.
• Trading members not registered with the National Stock Exchange must continue to submit their AI/ML details to National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange in accordance with the existing process.
• The submission is required to be made through the NCFE portal of the Exchange under the module Compliance → AI/ML.
• The Exchange has clarified that the submission link will remain open only up to the due date, reinforcing the need for timely compliance with the reporting requirement.

Actions if Any –
• Members who are required to report and have not yet submitted the prescribed AI/ML information/data must complete the filing through the NCFE portal under Compliance → AI/ML.
• Members must ensure compliance with the reporting requirement within the prescribed timeline.

Compliance Deadline –
The required AI/ML information/data for the year ended March 31, 2026 must be submitted on or before April 15, 2026, through the NCFE portal of National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange under the Compliance → AI/ML module. The submission window will remain open only until April 15, 2026.
