What changed
Central Registry of Securitisation Asset Reconstruction and Security Interest of India (CERSAI), vide Circular No. CERSAI/CKYCRR/2026/10921 dated 29th July, 2026, has announced an important update regarding CKYCRR 2.0 Go-live preparedness for Reporting Entities (REs).
Key Details of the Update –
• CERSAI has informed that CKYCRR 2.0 is tentatively scheduled to go live in August 2026 after completion of ongoing audits, including VAPT, source code audit, WASA and data migration activities.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT) has been completed in three phases involving the CERSAI team, 7 Reporting Entities, and 50 Reporting Entities, with identified issues resolved and platform improvements incorporated.
• Existing REs will be migrated to CKYCRR 2.0 in a phased manner. Test bed credentials will first be shared with Nodal Officers and Institutional Admin Users, followed by production credentials after completion of test activities.
• After the first production login, REs must update details of newly introduced fields and submit the registration form before accessing all CKYCRR 2.0 functionalities through API, SFTP and Web-based access.
• REs that are not yet migrated after go-live will have access only to Search and Download functions in CKYCRR 1.0, which will remain available for 30 days after CKYCRR 2.0 goes live. Upload, update and other transaction-related activities will not be available during this transition period.
• During the transition period, REs must maintain records of all customer uploads and updates and upload/update those records in CKYCRR 2.0 immediately after migration.
• Once an RE is onboarded to CKYCRR 2.0, access to CKYCRR 1.0 will be deactivated and all operations must be carried out only through CKYCRR 2.0.
• User manuals, operational guidelines, API specifications and other reference documents will be made available shortly on the CKYC website. Training for REs will also commence separately.
• Applicability: Applicable to all entities registered with the Central KYC Records Registry (CKYCRR).
• Effective Date: CKYCRR 2.0 is tentatively scheduled to go live in August 2026. No specific go-live date has been notified.
• Key Changes: Introduction of a phased migration from CKYCRR 1.0 to CKYCRR 2.0, with revised onboarding, transition procedures and mandatory migration requirements for all Reporting Entities.
• Penalty/Consequence: Not Mentioned.
Actions if Any –
• Complete the test bed activities using the credentials provided by CERSAI.
• After receiving production credentials, update the newly introduced fields, submit the registration form and complete onboarding to CKYCRR 2.0.
• Maintain records of all customer uploads and updates during the transition period and upload/update them in CKYCRR 2.0 after migration.
• Ensure systems, applications and operational processes are ready to support migration to CKYCRR 2.0.
Compliance Deadline –
• Migrate to CKYCRR 2.0 as early as possible after its go-live. CKYCRR 1.0 Search and Download facility will remain available only for 30 days after the go-live of CKYCRR 2.0. No exact migration deadline has been specified.
