What changed

NSE Clearing Limited, vide Circular No. NCL/EGR/75186 dated July 14, 2026, has announced an important update regarding revision of formats for agreements and annexures applicable to the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment.

Key Details of the Update –
• The circular revises the standard formats of agreements, guarantees, pledges, and related documents applicable to the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment.

• The revised formats have been issued in continuation of the consolidated Circular No. NCL/CMPT/73954 dated April 29, 2026.

• Applicability: All Members operating in the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment.

• The following revised formats have been prescribed:
• Annexure 1(A): Format of Bank Guarantee for Margin Deposit (Fungible).
• Annexure 1(B): Format of Bank Guarantee for Margin Deposit and Security Deposit (Non-Fungible).
• Annexure 2: Format for Renewal of Bank Guarantee towards Margin Deposit and Security Deposit.
• Annexure 3: Format of Deed of Pledge, including the format for Clearing Members depositing commodities for margin deposit in the EGR Segment.
• Annexure 4: Format of Agreement for placing Government Securities (G-Secs)/Treasury Bills (T-Bills) as collateral.
• Annexure 5(A): Format of Letter by Member for submission of Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR) to the Clearing Corporation.
• Annexure 5(B): Format of Letter by the issuing Bank for FDR submitted to the Clearing Corporation.
• Annexure 5(C): Format of Letter by the Bank for renewal of FDR where there is a change in the FDR number.
• Annexure 5(D): Format of Letter by the Bank for renewal of FDR where there is no change in the FDR number.

• The revised annexures standardize documentation relating to bank guarantees, security deposits, margin deposits, pledge of securities, collateral placement, and FDR submissions for the EGR segment.

• Effective Date: July 14, 2026.

• Key Changes: Replacement of the existing prescribed formats for agreements and collateral-related documentation with revised standardized formats for use by EGR Clearing Members.

Actions if Any –
• Members should adopt and use the revised formats prescribed under Annexures 1(A), 1(B), 2, 3, 4, 5(A), 5(B), 5(C), and 5(D) for the relevant documentation in the EGR Segment.

• Members should ensure that all bank guarantees, pledge deeds, collateral agreements, and FDR-related documents are executed using the updated formats issued by NSE Clearing Limited.

Compliance Deadline –
• Effective July 14, 2026, members are required to use the revised prescribed formats for the applicable documents in the Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment.
