How CompliSense handles update lifecycle and continuity.
This page explains how CompliSense manages the status of published updates over time, including revision continuity, reader-facing status signals, and how material changes are handled.
What update process covers
This page defines lifecycle and continuity mechanics for update records: what state an entry is in, how that state can change, and how readers should interpret those changes over time.
- Source hierarchy and source eligibility are defined in Source Policy.
- Editorial standards and governance are defined in Editorial Policy.
- Operational method is defined in Methodology.
Lifecycle states
Draft
Draft entries are internal working records and are not available at the permanent public update URL until published.
Published
Published entries are available publicly and are treated as active reference records for readers.
Revised / updated
Published entries may be updated in place to reflect clarifications or material changes while preserving continuity at the same URL.
Retracted
Retracted entries retain their URL with visible retraction state so prior references do not break and readers can understand current reliability status.
Archived (internal management state)
Archived entries are removed from active public listing streams as part of internal content management controls.
Revision continuity
When published content changes, continuity is preserved by maintaining the existing update URL rather than moving readers to a different route.
Later clarifications and corrections are reflected in the same record so teams can maintain reference stability for internal communication and audit trails.
Status signals and reader interpretation
Reader-facing status signals indicate whether an entry is in full view, concise preview visibility, or retracted state. These signals are intended to help users interpret the current reliability and use-status of an update.
Revised entries should be read as the current maintained record at that URL. Retracted entries should be treated as historical context, not as an active execution reference.
Limits and related trust pages
Update Process governs state and continuity mechanics only. For adjacent trust foundations, refer to:
- Methodology for operational conversion of regulatory change into usable action.
- Source Policy for source hierarchy, eligibility, and traceability discipline.
- Editorial Policy for publication governance, review standards, and correction principles.
- Coverage Scope for boundary and prioritization context.
